About
nicoykatiushka (NyK) is a collaborative duo formed on June 20, 2003 in Brooklyn, New York. Since then NyK have been
creating multi-media installations which combine new technologies with performance and installation techniques. By com-
bining live imagery with the mediated image through hybrid performances NyK address the blurred boundaries between
technology and human relationships. They have shown around the globe in numerous galleries.
In 2006 NyK formed NYKFFA (nicoykatiushka Foundation for the Arts), a mobile platform for collaborative artistic projects, supporting the
idea of artist communities and networks by hosting video festivals and exhibitions run by artists. NyK recently created
Antenna, a non for profit organization whose main role is not only to create a framework and a stage but also to bring
together different cultural experiments and to collaborate with artists and curators to produce one moment of potentiality.
Currently they are curating the Latin American part of the 798 Beijing Biennale.
nicoykatiushka (nyk) es un colaborativo creativo formado por Nicolás Arze y Katiushka Melo, el cual comienza el día
de su matrimonio en Brooklyn, NY (20 de Junio, 2003). Desde entonces, han creado instalaciones multimediales com-
binando tecnologías nuevas con herramientas tradicionales del vídeo. Su trabajo ha sido expuesto en EEUU, Chile,
Alemania, Francia, España, México, Nueva Zelanda y China.
En 2006, NyK formaron NYKFFA (nicoykatiushka Founda-
tion for the Arts), cuya misión es apoyar a artistas emergentes, como también crear redes de comunidades de artistas a
través de festivales de vídeo, exhibiciones, residencias y proyectos de arte contemporáneo. Este año formaron Antenna,
una corporación sin fines de lucro dedicado a la promoción de artistas internacionales a través de una plataforma
itinerante. Actualmente, están preparando una curatoria de artistas Latino Americanos para la Bienal 798 de Bejing.
